Green Development: Sustainable Buildings and Infrastructure

Green development is essential to both accommodate population growth and achieve a community vision for sustainability and liveability. To create greener communities, changes will need to be made to existing land use regulations, design guidelines, construction standards, and more. At this conference you will hear from leading experts in sustainable development and planning including Dr. John Robinson of the University of British Columbia and Brent Toderian of the City of Vancouver. Speakers will address issues such as the current impact of green infrastructure on the construction industry; LEED, BOMA and other building standard codes; successes and challenges in developing community energy solutions; and essential water issues- from green roofs to water governance.
